Letter of Introduction

Dear Stephanie,
My name is Andrew Jacobson. I am currently at ICC majoring in English. I hope to transfer Eastern Illinois University, and hope to become a teacher and a football coach. I graduated from EPCHS in 2008, where I was on the football team. Yes, I played football at East Peoria. And to be honest, my senior class did not win a game until week seven of our senior year, when we beat Pekin 28-24. It is one fond memory I have.
I am an only child, which is sweet. I was born on February 26th, 1990. I have a dog named Abby, and live with my mom and dad. I have had a girlfriend named Alex for a year and a half. One of my favorite sports is football, but I watch almost anything that is on ESPN. I also like to watch the trashy reality TV shows on VH1, which always make me feel better. I also like to listen to music, and my favorite band is Blink-182, who I saw in concert on August 15th. It has to be one of the best concerts I have ever seen. I couldn’t live without watching my favorite sports teams including, the Packers, Cardinals, and the Fighting Illini. In March, Christmas comes early for me when March Madness starts. It is my favorite time of year. After I graduated, one of my best friends went to the Marine Corps. I am now proud to say I know someone who is fighting for my freedom, even though I miss hanging out with my buddy.
I also enjoy golf. It is the most frustrating sports, but it is also relaxing at the same time. Although I am not very good, my grandpa, dad and I usually go once every two weeks during the summer. I also like to Frisbee golf, or frolf. It is what my friends and I do during the summer, and have been known to go during the winter on occasion.
My goals for this semester are to raise my GPA so I can get into EIU. It is my dream to be able to coach football and be a teacher. I started out as a history major and it really wasn’t for me. So last semester I switched to English as my major. This has been one of the better decisions I have made. I also want to be able to learn more from the classes I am taking. Some of the classes I have had in high school but I hope to broaden my knowledge on these topics. I hope to have fun in this class this semester and hope to learn more about my writing and become a better writer.
